The Tomatis® Method is a specialised auditory neurostimulation program that uses electronically modified music and voice to provide structured stimulation to the auditory system.
The approach is based on the important relationship between the ear, brain and body. The ear is much more than an organ of hearing—it is one of the body's important sensory systems, with extensive connections to brain systems involved in balance, movement, attention, sensory processing, learning and emotional regulation.
Through specially processed music and sound, the Tomatis® Method aims to engage the ear–brain–body connection, supporting the brain's ability to process and respond to auditory information and encouraging more efficient listening.
The Tomatis® approach incorporates three principles associated with learning and neuroplasticity:
The auditory system continuously provides information to the brain, while the inner ear contributes to balance, movement and spatial awareness. This makes the ear an important gateway for sensory information and its connection with the wider nervous system.
The Tomatis® Method uses this connection to provide a structured auditory experience designed to support listening, attention, sensory processing, communication, learning and participation.
At Hi 5 CDC, the program is individually planned according to each child's developmental needs and can be integrated with other therapeutic and developmental interventions.
Hi 5 CDC is proud to be the first centre in Mumbai to offer this specialised auditory neurostimulation program at Sparsh PRC Mumbai.
